Dear Rotarians

I have felt your tender touch

Without you knowing it

Rotarians, I have known your warmth and love

In spite of your distance

I, who talk to you today

Admire your self-giving

Your motto “Service Above All”

Has never been truer

I am because of you.

Six days a month, dear Rotarians

I remained secluded in our impoverished home

Detached from life-giving education

All because of the unchangeable nature

Which had made me feel dejected

But because of you

I got padded from shame and humiliation

And never missed a day from school

Thus I walk academically and gracefully

Because of you.

Now I am a girl with self-esteem

My dignity has been restored

No more turning my skirt to look for tell-tale signs

Look at me! My demeanor tells it all

I know you look at me with a sense of pride

Indeed you profit most because you serve best

You are so unrelenting in your endeavor

To make a better me out of myself

Oh! How gratifying to know you care!

Even when you have never known me!

Your existence has endeared you to my heart

You have padded my heart too

By ensuring I am in school throughout

Every step I take, every move I make

I know you’ll always care more

Now that you know me more!

And so, dear girls

Like a roller in the ocean, life is motion, move on

Like the wind that’s always blowing, life is flowing, move on

Like the sunrise in the morning, life is dawning, move on

You have helped me to surmount the insurmountable

Wonderfully well

And taught me to serve above self

Let my ego never stop me from doing that

And let your bottomless love steer me through.

BRAVO ROTARIANS! CHEERIO
